Brenda Jones greatly enjoys her role as a chamber musician, solo pianist, and ensemble coach. In 2003 she was a top prizewinner in the Dublin International Piano Competition, and in 2004 she was a semi-finalist in the Sydney International Piano Competition. She has toured as a soloist throughout Germany and Austria on the KAWAI European concert series, and performed in chamber concerts in the United States, Spain, England, France, and Belgium, where her trio was the honored guests of Prince Charles-Antoine. As a soloist, Brenda has performed with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Kalamazoo Symphony, La Mirada Symphony, Los Angeles Bach Orchestra, Symphonies in the Glen, and the Irish National Symphony Orchestra. In 1998 Brenda was named a Gilmore Young Artist, one of America’s most prestigious honors given to pianists. She was a featured artist on National Public Radio’s Performance Today program and a guest on WMUK, KUSC, ABC, and RTE Ireland. In the United States, Brenda received first prize in the Kingsville International Competition, Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Award, and placed first in the Isabel Scionti National Piano Solo Competition. The National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts gave her its highest Level 1 honor and named her a finalist for Presidential Scholar of the Arts. Brenda received her Bachelors and Masters of Music degrees under full scholarship from the University of Southern California, where she studied with John Perry. She continued her studies on a fellowship with Joan Havill at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Brenda was invited to work with Robert Levin, Anne Epperson, Arie Vardi, Charles Niedich, and Joseph Silverstein in chamber music festivals across the USA. In 2005, Brenda moved to Sydney, where she is currently on the music faculty at St Andrew’s Cathedral School.
