Eun-Jung Byun - Pianist
Eun-Jung Byun has been highly successful in building her reputation in the specialized area of ensemble piano. She currently is working as an accompanist in the Vocal/Opera Unit of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music after completing the Master of Performance (Accompaniment) degree at SCM. Eun-Jung studied with Elizabeth Powell and David Miller. During her studies, she performed in partnership with Andrew Barnes, Susan Blake, Rowena Cowley, Wendy Dixon, Georg Pedersen and Barry Ryan. The recipient of numerous scholarships and prizes, Eun-Jung was selected to take part in the student exchange program at the Royal Academy of Music, London. She was awarded the International Exchange Scholarship and the College of Humanities and Social Science Scholarship from the University of Sydney in recognition of her selection as a representative of the University in 2004. She studied with Clifford Benson and participated in master classes with Malcolm Martineau and Clare Southworth. Eun-Jung is currently a member of the Accompanists’ Guild of NSW and performs frequently for the Federated Music Clubs of Australia, recitals, master classes and other occasions.
