The 2011 Junior Day Program is an exciting opportunity for young flute players from all over Australia to come and dive right in to wild and wonderful ways of making music on the flute. Each and every young flute player will have hands on experience during the workshop sessions culminating in a thrilling afternoon concert where the day’s hard work will dazzle audiences. The program is open to players between 8-16 years old with a minimum playing standard of approximately 3^rd grade AMEB.

9.00-10.00	Cool 'n' Hip Blues warmup and flute beat boxing
10.00-11.00	Opening Concert (main Festival programme)
11.00-12.00	Curiouser and Curiouser Extended techniques, improvisation and ghost stories
12.00-1.00	Junior Masterclass with Teresa Rabe Like a Pro
1.00-2.00	Lunch
2.00-3.00	Lunchtime Concert (main Festival programme)
3.00-3.30	Rehearsal for Junior Concert
3.30-4.15	Junior Concert Featuring all Junior Programme participants
4.15	Parents collect children if not involved in Junior Ensemble Masterclass
4.30-5.30	Junior Flute Ensemble Masterclass with Emma Knott

The Junior Day Programme is being run by Shaun Barlow who is a professional flute player based in Sydney. Shaun specialises in contemporary music, flute beatboxing, collaborating with composers and exploring the endless multitude of sounds available from the flute.
