Michael Cox Australian Tour by lyndie on Mar 11 2010
Michael Cox, Principal Flute of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, toured Australia in February/March 2010. As we anticipated, everyone was very excited about his classes and recitals.
Here is some of the feedback we received:
Yesterday afternoon I attended the Sydney Flute masterclass given by visiting English flautist, Michael Cox. Michael was really interesting, intelligent, musical and inspiring. He is clearly a marvellous player & teacher who is passionate about not only the flute, but also about expressing life through music.
Presented by Flutes and Flutists, it was held at Chatswood High Hall, which has excellent acoustics. It was encouraging to see the turn out around one hundred in the audience, including Janet Webb, Libby Pring, and many others. I hope that we can continue to support these events, they are invaluable. I applaud David and Lyndie Leviston for their tireless commitment to better flute playing and a better flute community in Australia..

Once again thank you for the wonderful masterclass that you organised with Michael Cox in Canberra. It was very informative and motivational for my playing. As a 2nd year part time BMus, UNE external student it was great to see a hands on masterclass and I gained much information from it.

I was an auditor at the masterclass yesterday, and thought it was just brilliant! I was so glad I could make it!

Just a quick note to thank you so much for organising the Michael Cox class, and especially for including Canberra on the itinerary. It was a fabulous class and all my students, and myself were absolutely inspired. We felt very lucky to be able to hear such world class playing and teaching in our own city.
With many thanks and lots of appreciation again.
Best wishes

We will definitely be bringing Michael back to Australia in the future!
