We have received many lovely emails from people in the 2 weeks since the Festival, I thought I would share some of them with you:
I can't imagine how much energy you both and your crew must have burned up in seeing that the festival ran, seemingly without any obvious bumps or hiccoughs. Of course, you think, there were the hundreds or perhaps thousands of hours of preparation you put in. And all of this with your usual panache and good humour, so thank you from one delighted and satisfied customer.
I took detailed notes throughout the sessions and am now working through them. The best test of such a conference, at least for me, is to find that I have been rethinking tone production, in particular.
I imagine that word is getting around in the Pacific from flute player to flute player, "If you get the chance to go to the Australian Flute Festival, "take it"!
I especially enjoyed the oportunity to hear three such great players talk about their flute playing lives and training.
Dennis Dorwick
Just a quick note to thank you so much for a magnificent Festival.
The visiting artists were all supremely good at what they do: Molly with her vibrant American energy, iron will-power and slightly zany command of the flute; Aldo with his dark, handsome looks, superb command of English, compassionate nature, meticulous eye for detail in his teaching and wonderful playing; and finally, shy and gentle Denis. The standing ovation he received after his recital was testimony to the extraordinary artistry of this young chap. I don`t think any flute concert has ever affected me quite so deeply: I felt I`d been to the top of Mount Olympus and tasted the nectar of the gods. I can`t wait for his next CD. And what a complete musician he is with his ability to play the Bolling Jazz suite on the piano!
In such a troubled world, one cannot help but feel that all the positive energy that was generated during the Festival must in some way help in the global struggle against dark forces.

Just a short note to say a BIG THANK YOU for all your work in organising this great event. Lucie and Georgia loved the Junior Day yesterday and the exhibitors were all very generous in letting them play their flutes....I suspect having Emma Knott assisted in this regard! The concert with Mollie Barth yesterday was also an eye opener for me, being a non flute player - the sounds were extraordinary!
The flute hasn't been put back in its bag since our return last night... we will definitely be back for the next Festival.

I would like to congratulate you for the Australian Flute Festival and the wonderful concerts that were organized.
Ann and I particularly enjoyed the concert on Sunday night and I was delighted to listen to Aldo Baerten’s recital on Monday.
I hope that we will be able to help you in the future, should you again invite guests like Aldo! Do not hesitate to contact us.

A big heart-felt thanks to both of you for your work, interest and financial support of flute playing and flutists in this Country.
It is interesting to think, that in life we all find what we are meant to be doing....
You have both been given the baton for the development, betterment and promotion of Australian Flutists, flute music and building a better International flute community.
What a gift!
I was so impressed by the amount of work that went into programs, artists, timings, music, etc. etc.
Thank you from the Global community of flutists. You have changed our lives and the lives of many young ones.
Peter Sheridan
Thank you for organising another wonderful festival. In the last few days I've learnt many new things and I'm feeling more exited about my flute playing than ever.
I loved hearing Dennis Bouriakov, Molly Barth and Aldo Barten performing. They are all amazing musicians and hearing them play together was a treat.
I walked out of all of the workshops and Masterclasses that I attended with new, interesting knowledge that I've already started to apply. I have a better understanding of breath control and support after Alexa Still's talk on Saturday. My bass flute playing has also improved since Peter Sheridan's low flutes talk.
I've had an amazing weekend and I look forward to future festivals.

An incredible thank you to both for organizing the Australian Flute Festival, which once again has been a most inspiring and rewarding weekend for me.
This has been the most memorable musical experience of my life yet! I was breath taken by the amount wonderful flautists and flute-lovers from everywhere around Australia and the world – befriending people in intimate corridors and café at ANU with snippets of lovely flute-related conversation inbetween rushing off from lecture room 3 to Llewllyn Hall and even waiting backstage at the competition.
Upon returning home in Cammeray, I collapsed into bed and napped for almost two days straight since it ended – and waking up today I have only just began to realize all the fantastic bits of flute related knowledge and wisdom I have digested in such a small and intense period of time.
I appreciate it so much and can only hope that one day I will be able to help out in the festival and in some way give back the wonderful things I have learnt and taken away from the weekend.
